As most of the Romanian people reading this blog already know, yesterday was Elections Day in Romania. It’s that ‘let’s-now-choose-a-president-that-will-be-no-good’ thing that happens once in 5 years, but this time the main problem is we really don’t have whom to choose. I won’t go into a rigmarole on the subject though, ’cause I’m not really that much into politics.

What I am going to talk about is Realitatea.NET, the number one news TV channel (and the number one news website, as a matter of fact) in Romania. They’re using our Veevid platform to manage and distribute their video content over the internet. And yesterday, we had the supreme test. We’ve been rather silent here at Brainient for the past few months, but not because we’ve been treating ourselves with mochitos on Richard Branson’s island but because we’ve been working our asses out on a new product.

2009 has been an incredible year so far, and I feel we’ve gone a very long way for such a small, boot-straped company. Here’s a quick summary:

- January – Launched Veevid, our video management platform.

- February - got shortlisted for Mini Seedcamp Paris with our video management platform, Veevid. We won. The experience has been fantastic and I got back to Romania with my Moleskine notebook filled with notes, feedback and awesome ideas.

We’ve been working like crazy here at Brainient. After winning Mini Seedcamp Paris in February, with Veevid – our open-source video management platform, we’ve been working like crazy to launch the beta of a new product. A product focused on video monetization. Stay tuned, we’ll be giving you more details shortly.

We also have a new site which communicates better who we are, what we do and where we’re heading.
